The Down Side of Free Tickets

Yes, that's right there is a down side to getting free tickets. The problem is that you don't always remember if it is a day game or a night game. But, to be completely honest, it was absolutely our fault that we didn't get to see the Yankees game last Saturday. We printed our tickets and put then in a place where we wouldn't forget them, and we just assumed that it was going to be a night game. Unfortunately we found out otherwise at about 1:30, when we caught the game on the radio during the 3rd inning. So we missed our chance to see Yankee Stadium and we missed our chance to see Chad Gaudin hold the Bronx Bombers to only one hit over 7 innings. We really couldn't help but be mad at ourselves, and the endless traffic across the George Washington Bridge just added insult to injury. We ended up drowning our sorrows with a large New York pizza in our hotel room.

Now we're in Boston getting ready for the Fourth of July and a couple games at Fenway Park. We have both really been looking forward to this part of the road trip. We had some time to kill yesterday so we stopped by Fenway and the Yawkey Way team store, which made us both pretty excited. We just spent today walking around Davis Square with another MCS buddy of mine, Nate Grady, who is also a big Red Sox fan. Tonight we are having dinner with John Sutliffe, Dan's cousin who gave Dan (and me indirectly) Red Sox tickets as a graduation present. And tomorrow we hope to catch a Pawtucket Red Sox game in Rhode Island. The Paw Sox are the triple-A affiliate of the Red Sox. And then Wednesday and Thursday we have tickets at Fenway. As you can see, we have a pretty eventful week in store for us.
